"The Lean" is the second Synthrock EP by Xander Phillips.
Released in 2025, this collection originally came from a running joke where
Xander would do the "Lean" pose around the world.
It's also a homage to the 80s album covers where everyone would "Lean" on the cover, and thus "The Lean" was born
It features three songs and three instrumentals.
Passenger Princess - Tells a story of "Passenger Princess" and "Adventure Boy" getting on a plane and flying away from their problems and starting a new life together.
Happily Never After (On A Friday Night) - Is the simpliest song of the three to play but features a two minute guitar solo, it's most comparable to all along the watch, where the focus of the song itself is the guitar and the vocals come second. Keen eared listeners may hear influences from different styles of the music from the last hundred years.
There's even a well known series of notes known as the "Weezer notes" changed ever so slightly to be original but close enough that listeners can recognise it.
Hotline To My Heart - The first single and is the biggest earworm, once you've heard it...it'll be stuck in your head for days. Listen at your own risk.
